Firstly why choose a campervan?

Campervans have a generally more hip and trendy look and feel to them than the cumbersome caravan or larger motorhome. Plus, they are much easier to park in towns and cities and take to smaller campsites. You also don’t have as many driving challenges on motorways and secluded roads so you can explore more in your camper.  

Is it better to rent or buy a campervan?

Well, there are a couple of big questions to ask yourself whether you should rent or buy. Firstly, what kind of budget have you to spend, or do you have the option to take on any financing to get your perfect camper. Secondly, how long, how far, and how often do you intend to travel? Based on your answers to these will nudge you in the right direction.

BUYING A CAMPERVAN

This is the total freedom option because the vehicle belongs to you. So, you can take it wherever you want, for however long you want. You can extend your stay for a couple of nights  You won’t be constrained by rental days and never need to worry about making sure you get to your drop off destination on time.

Investing in a campervan means you have an asset that will usually retain a significant portion of its purchase price. Campervans are built to last and hold their price well. So, when you come to sell you’ll find that your camper has not depreciated as a  car would. Plus, the cost of renting doesn’t come cheap renting a camper for a week is around £1000 a week for a family of four.

If you love holidays and short breaks throughout the year you probably wouldn’t continually rent, so your spending on other options such as transport, and hotels. If you owned your own camper you have the option to travel when and where you like.

RENTING A CAMPERVAN 

Renting is the time saving, hassle-free option and a great way of trialing if campervan holidays are right for you. Also, If your a busy person, or maybe have limited time to spend on regular getaways then renting will not only save you money but also time. Renting a camper is a quick and easy option and offers the freedom to explore too.

Ultimately, renting is hassle-free, there’s no initial outlay and should you have any problems during your holidays rental period, then the responsibility is with the rental company

In summary, if you only going to take trips a couple of times a year then renting will probably be the best for you. But, if your ready and waiting to see more of the UK and the continent then buying your own campervan will change your life! We think for the better
